Warranty
Limited warranty
New parts supplied by Mechanical Materials are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of shipment as documented in the supplying manufacturer’s records. Within that period we will, at our discretion, repair or replace any component determined to be defective in materials or workmanship. We administer the claim for you.
How the warranty period is measured
The one-year period runs from the supplier’s shipment date, not from the date you buy the part. Where an item has been held in our inventory, part of that period may already have elapsed. Ask us for the remaining warranty on any item before you order and we will tell you.
Rebuilt, obsolete, and new-old-stock items
These are sold as-is, without warranty, unless a warranty is stated in writing on your order. We will always tell you which condition you are buying before you commit.
Custom and specially engineered orders
Custom and specially engineered orders are non-returnable and non-refundable.
What the warranty does not cover
- Products transferred by the original purchaser to another party.
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, improper handling, vandalism, accident, or incorrect installation.
- Damage sustained during shipping or transportation.
- Labor costs of any kind, including those related to installation, removal, repair, or replacement.
- Damage to associated equipment or components; personal injury; loss of profits or income; incidental, indirect, or consequential damages; or any other loss arising from or related to the use of the product.
Making a claim
Contact us with your order number, the part number, the equipment serial number, and a description of the failure. Do not discard the failed part — it is normally required back for evaluation before a claim can be honored.
Fitness for your application
You are responsible for confirming that a part is correct and suitable for your equipment and your application. We will help identify parts from the information you give us, and we are glad to do it, but the final determination rests with you or your qualified elevator professional.
Except as expressly stated above, Mechanical Materials disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
