Membership and Account Eligibility
Who may hold an account
Mechanical Materials supplies elevator and escalator businesses. Accounts are available to companies engaged in the elevator and escalator trade — contractors, service companies, and maintenance providers. We do not sell to the general public.
What we need to approve an account
- Company name, business address, and a contact for the account.
- Texas applicants: your current TDLR elevator contractor registration number.
- Applicants outside Texas: your state’s equivalent elevator contractor license or registration. Where your state does not license elevator contractors, contact us and we will tell you what we can accept.
- Optional, and only if you intend to purchase tax-exempt: your Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit number and a completed resale or exemption certificate. Accounts without exemption documentation on file are charged sales tax.
How long approval takes
We verify your registration with the issuing authority and respond within one business day. If we need anything further we will call you rather than leave the application sitting. If you have an urgent need, call us at 800-323-7505.
Pricing
Pricing is visible to approved members when signed in. We do not publish prices publicly.
Keeping your account current
Let us know if your registration or your exemption documentation changes. We may suspend an account where a credential has lapsed, and will restore it as soon as the current one is on file.
